Doug Lindsey
I joined SCWC in 2004. My wife Jeanie and I are from Nitro WV. We spend about eight months of the year in Melbourne Florida and four months in WV. We have four children and eleven grandchildren. I'm a former member of Ashland Area Woodcarvers in Ashland Kentucky where I worked at Ashland Oil Refinery as a piping designer.
I started carving on my lunch time at work, carving peach seed monkey's. Then I went to some relief carving and then to walking sticks, which I think is my specility.
I enjoy the camaraderie with my fellow woodcarvers at SCWC and appreciate the helpful hints and new idea's we can bounce off one another.
I also like to help new carvers with some of the basics of woodcarving and watch them advance. We always welcome new carvers to join in on the fun.
